Meta Business Verification Rejected: Documents That Actually Work
Why Meta Business Verification fails, which documents pass, how to match your business details, and how it connects to Advanced Access and Tech Provider verification.
Most Advanced Access requests stall on Business Verification before App Review even starts. The verification itself is simple. The problem is almost always a mismatch somewhere.
Why it gets rejected
- The name doesn’t match. The legal name on your document differs from the name in Business Manager, even by “Pvt Ltd” vs “Private Limited”.
- Address or phone mismatch. Meta compares what you enter with the document and often with your website.
- The document isn’t official. Invoices and screenshots usually fail. Registration certificates, tax documents and utility bills in the business name pass.
- The website doesn’t show the business. Missing legal name, address, or contact details in the footer.
- Domain or email isn’t verified. Verifying a domain email is often the fastest path.
Documents that usually pass
- Certificate of incorporation or business registration
- Tax registration (for example a GST certificate in India, an EIN letter in the US, a VAT certificate in the EU)
- A utility bill or bank statement in the business’s legal name, matching the address
Before you submit
- Put the exact legal name and address in your website footer.
- Use the same legal name in Business Manager settings.
- Verify your domain in Business Manager (Brand Safety → Domains).
- Have a phone number that can receive a call or SMS from Meta.
Business Verification vs Access Verification
Business Verification proves who you are. Access Verification (Tech Provider) proves your app serves other businesses, which is required for many WhatsApp and Instagram tools used by clients. You need the first before the second.
